Balancer

Energy storage for sliding gates.

The Balancer was developed to increase the safety and comfort of sliding gates. With a Balancer, gates on a slope behave as if they were mounted level — the gate opens and closes easily by hand, and a small drive is enough. The low drive forces preserve the motor, and statutory force values can be met even without contact strips.

Features

Force compensation that protects and simplifies.

Six features that make the Balancer indispensable for sliding gates on a slope — from reduced forces to legally compliant safety.

01

Safety through force reduction

Lower drive forces meet statutory safety values — even without contact strips.

02

More comfort

The gate opens and closes easily by hand — a clear advantage even in emergencies.

03

Lower drive load

A smaller drive is sufficient, with less wear and longer life for the gate motor.

04

Variant A (70 × 70 mm)

Ideal for installation in 80 × 80 mm gate frames — a compact in-profile solution.

05

Variant B (80 × 60 mm)

Perfectly matched to installation inside the MGD rail — minimal structure, maximum effect.

06

Up to 10 m clear opening

One Balancer for gates up to 10 m and 30 kg pull force — two combined when more is needed.

In detail

Gates on slopes.
As light as on level ground.

The Balancer stores the potential energy created by the slope and releases it again in a controlled way. The gate moves as if the driveway were perfectly level — by hand, motorised or in an emergency.

  • Energy storage principle

The Balancer converts the slope into spring tension — and releases it again in a controlled way when opening and closing.

  • Balance gates on a slope

Even steep driveways become drivable with only minimal drive force — safely and comfortably.

  • Universal mounting

The Balancer fits any sliding gate — we make the mounting individually to your specifications.

  • Ideal MGD combination

Combined with our MGD rails the Balancer reaches its full potential — fastest installation, best performance.

In detail

Operating principle & variants.

How the Balancer compensates for lever forces — and which variant fits which gate construction.

01 · Operating principle

Storing energy, releasing it under control

A sliding gate on a slope tends to move on its own to its lowest position. The Balancer counteracts that pull, stores the potential energy, and releases it again in a controlled way during movement.

Force compensation on a slope

The spring-based mechanism is precisely matched to gate weight and slope. Opening and closing feels as if the gate were mounted horizontally — even on steep driveways.

Statutory force values

The significantly reduced movement forces meet the statutory safety values — without additional contact strips on the gate.

Drive note

A smaller drive is enough — preserving the mechanics and electronics and extending the life of the entire system.

02 · Variants & sizing

Variant A or B — the right choice

The Balancer is available in two variants, chosen by installation location and gate construction. Both work on the same principle — the right choice depends on available space.

Variant A vs. Variant B

Variant A (70 × 70 mm) is designed for installation in 80 × 80 mm gate frames. Variant B (80 × 60 mm) fits perfectly inside the MGD rail — compact build, no additional space required.

Length sizing

The length of the Balancer depends on the required pull force and the gate’s clear opening. We make every variant exactly to your specification.

Special version

For gates over 10 m clear opening or 30 kg pull force we combine two Balancers into a powerful dual system.

FAQ

FAQ
about the Balancer.

Answers about mounting on various gate types, dimensions, ordering and the available variants.

Ask a question
Can a Balancer also be fitted to sliding gates from other manufacturers?
Yes, a Balancer can be fitted to any sliding gate. The mounting is made to your specification. The simplest combination is with our MGD rails.
How big can the gate be for a Balancer?
A Balancer can be built for gates up to 10 m clear opening and 30 kg pull force. Beyond that, two Balancers can also be combined.
What information is needed to place an order?
For the quote and production we need the gate weight, the slope (in degrees or percent), the clear opening and the desired installation position. If the gate is already installed and the weight or slope is unknown, the pull force alone is enough.
How many variants are there?
Variant A (70 × 70 mm) suits installation in 80 × 80 mm gate frames. Variant B (80 × 60 mm) is ideal for installation inside the MGD rail. The length depends on the required pull force and the clear opening of the gate.
